On Saturday, December 8th HOLIDAYS ON THE POINT returns -
partnering with the APA Home Tour, and ending with a big flare that evening –
the AEDF and Friends of the Ferry sponsored, 25th Algiers Bonfire. The hours
will be from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM with the excitement moving over to the levee at
5:00 PM for the 25th Annual Bonfire festivities.
B & B on the Point, 405 Delaronde at Lavergne, 10 – 3 PM
– Hillery and Ed Moise open their doors for you to have photos with Santa and
Ms. Claus.
Crown & Anchor Pub, 200 Pelican at Bouny – Holiday pub
drinks. Enjoy from 11 AM TIL........
Gulf Pizza, 446 Pelican at Verret. 2 – 9 PM. Those yummy hamburgers you loved
from Wednesdays on the Point!
Face Painting by Meghan Davis Noon – 2 PM
Calliope Puppets – 2 – 4 PM. All Ages Lantern Workshop
presented by Calliope Puppets at Gulf Pizza - FREE (donations accepted for
materials) Come make a lantern of recycled materials to carry in a magical
candle lit parade on the levee at the Algiers Bonfire that evening! Please
bring a clean, preferably clear (not opaque or milky) plastic 2 liter bottle.
All other materials provided. Child participants must have an adult partner for
the workshop, as well as, the parade!
Kupcakes, Etc, 501 Pelican at Verret – 7 AM – 6 PM –
Featuring a Hot Chocolate Bar with all the toppings along with the season’s
favorite cupcakes, pastries, and desserts.
Rosetree Glass Studio, 446 Vallette at Eliza – Open from 10
AM – 5 PM to purchase holiday gifts PLUS : “Blow Your Own Holiday Ornament”
Sessions (Pre-registration only – Call 366-3602) Fundraising opportunity for
the LA/SPCA
Vine & Dine, 141 Delaronde – "Toys for Tastes"
2pm - 5pm. Bring a toy or $10 donation to benefit the Marine Corps Toys for
Tots charity.
Confetti Kids Park – Confetti Kids' Letters to Santa: Noon –
2 PM. Parents - bring your kids to Confetti Park at Pelican and Verret so they
can create their own letter to Santa. As Santa's annual helper, this will give
you great ideas to fulfill your child's holiday desires! We'll be there to help
out. Note to Parents - you will be the direct line to Santa and will need to
send off their wishes to the North Pole after your thorough review!
Hubbell Library in Confetti Kids Park – 1 PM it’s Holiday
Story Time.
Belleville Assisted Living, 813 Pelican between Belleville and Elmira 2 – 6:00 pm – Holiday Tea and Social; Tour this great addition to the life on Algiers Point.
Algiers Music Point, 323 Verret – Live Music out front
